According to Justice Trisih Kavanagh who launched the Second
Justice Kavanagh said that it is important to keep a statistical record of the incidence of workplace violence in order to develop appropriate intervention strategies. Dr Duncan Chappell, co-author of the book, stated that the book provides a practical and helpful overview of the types of violence being experienced globally and how to respond to it. Dr Chappell said Australia is certainly not immune from this problem and workers here suffer similar experiences to their global colleagues, for example health care workers, taxi drivers, teachers and emergency workers. Murder at work is the single most common cause of death in the workplace in the US Dr Chappell said.
